Alimony reform in Florida was aimed at changing the concept of permanent alimony. But not all alimony agreements set forth by the courts are permanent. Permanent alimony settlements that are already in place, will continue. If the marriage lasted longer than 17 years, lifetime alimony may be statutorily appropriate.
