Granite Countertop: A stone with a beautiful appearance

Granite is a very beautiful stone and is currently being used in new construction and renovations of older homes. The ancient Egyptians recognized the benefits of this stone and tried it as flooring in their homes. Furthermore, as an extension of this, they tried to build important resting places (pyramids) for great rulers and wealthy people. These pyramids were sometimes built of red granite, which looked like pink stone when combined with other colored gemstones.
