The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM Ahmedabad or IIM-A) is a prestigious business school located in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. It is one of the top management institutes in India and is internationally renowned for its management education programs. Founded in 1961, IIM Ahmedabad was the second Indian Institute of Management to be established after IIM Calcutta. It was established with the support of the Government of India, the Ford Foundation, and the Indian industry. The institute's founding director was Dr. Vikram Sarabhai, a renowned physicist and industrialist. IIM Ahmedabad offers a range of management programs, including a flagship two-year Post Graduate Program in Management (PGP), a one-year Post Graduate Program for Executives (PGPX), and doctoral programs (Fellow Program in Management or FPM). It also conducts various executive education programs for working professionals.
