A tort is a legal term used to describe civil harm that results in someone suffering from damage. This harm can take various forms, such as physical, emotional, reputational, or mental harm. A person who commits a tortious act is known as a tortfeasor and is liable for legal action by the victim. The victim has the authority to file a lawsuit to recover damages caused by the tortious act. However, for a case to be considered illegal under Tort Law, the harm caused must be covered under the law.
