Its name comes from the Surrey, England town of Epsom, where it was first found. Despite its name, Epsom Salt is not the same as table salt at all. The fact that it has a molecular structure is most likely why it was called "salt." You might also know it as "Bath Salt" because it resembles table salt and is frequently dissolved in baths like Essential Oils. Although it resembles table salt in appearance, its flavor is very different. Epsom salt tastes extremely bitter and unpleasant. Some individuals still drink it after the salt has dissolved in the water.
