In 1915, Charlie Ede founded Ede Shades, and he owned the business until 1962. Charlie Ede passed away in 1962, leaving his children in charge of the business. Currently, the Ede family is leading the company for the fourth time. The company later changed its name to Ede Shades from its previous moniker, C Ede Pty Ltd. Ede Shades manufactures a large range of curtains, blinds, awnings, shutters, security doors, security screens, and shade sails. An article on the company's centenary anniversary was published in a local magazine in 2015. Ede Shades resides in Townsville, Queensland.
